Winter Wedding Inspiration: Let it Snow!

Depending on where you live, you may already be a little tired of snow.

I, on the other hand, just took a peek at my local forecast, and we are looking at a sunny 68 degrees on Christmas Day. It’s a rare treat for Central Texas to get snow (which, for us, amounts to a handful of flurries that melt upon hitting the ground), so I thought I might substitute some beautiful, snowy-wedding inspiration for the real thing.

Snow is a great photo backdrop, and the abundance of winter bridal shoots is a testament to that! I hope you enjoy these gorgeous bridal portraits. If you are planning a winter wedding, perhaps some of these ideas will inspire you.

The wedding dress is an important part of any marriage ceremony. As such, many brides would not normally consider covering it up. During the winter, however, and especially for bridal portraits, a scarf, cardigan, or shawl creates a beautiful wintery effect.

If you are planning on doing bridal portraits in the snow, consider accessorizing your dress with brilliant pops of color. The visual appeal is striking!

Winter lends itself to great seasonal props. I love how the bride and groom above included their Alaskan Huskies in their photos, and how the couple below made use of a sled.

As we all know, shoes are an important part of any bridal ensemble, but most of us are probably not too keen on the idea of traipsing through the snow in heels. That is one reason I fell in love with these winter snow boots when I saw them: they’d be the perfect finishing touch for the cold-climate bride.

Bridal boots aren’t for everyone, but there are other ways to keep your legs stylishly warm:

After all that, I feel a little cold — but in a Christmasy, festive way!
