Whitni: Texas “Bridal” College had failed me! After three years at TBC (Texas Bible College), I still had not found “the one” like everyone had said I would — not that I’d chosen to attend Bible college just to find a husband! Still, I’d hoped to meet a special someone who had a heart for ministry like I did. Little did I know God already had everything worked out . . .
The summer after my junior year at TBC, I went to a little church in Wesson, MS, to do their music for the summer. I had so much fun and was a little sad when the summer came to a close.
A few days before my last service in Wesson, the pastor attended a conference where the Lord prompted him to ask the man behind him to preach the next Sunday. Deciding not to question God, the pastor turned around and asked the man to preach.
Sunday came, and because it was my last service in Wesson, I had a special program planned. As soon as the cute preacher walked in, my nerves were on edge! But in spite of that, everything went great. After service, the preacher shook my hand, and that was it. Since I was going to return to school soon, I thought that was the last I’d see of him . . . but to my surprise, when I got home, he sent me a Facebook message!
We went on our first date a month later. Five months later we were engaged, and seven months after that, we were married! It still amazes me how God worked everything out.
