The Spring Trenchcoat: A Modest Wardrobe Staple

May 29, 2019

I hope you ladies are enjoying a beautiful spring! There’s so much life and color and newness about springtime, and I just love it.

I also love spring fashion! One of my favorite pieces for spring is a good trenchcoat. Over the years, I’ve owned many trenchcoats. It’s often hard to find a great fit, especially when it comes to the sleeves and shoulders.

I recently found this adorable trenchcoat at Goodwill for $8! One of the best things about it is that it’s a vintage Burberry trench. You can imagine my excitement when I ran across it! We live in the Pacific Northwest, and it’s vital to have a light spring coat here. You never know when the temperature may randomly drop below 50 degrees! So I keep this one handy. =) I brought it along on our DC trip a few weeks back, and it was a lifesaver!

This coat goes well with everything and “classys” up any outfit. And there are so many ways to style it! You can wear a trenchcoat tied at the waist, with a contrasting belt, or left open to show your dress underneath. A great trenchcoat is one of those pieces that tends to multiply your outfit possibilities!

Some may think of a trenchcoat as being more for fall or winter, but having one is really a staple in any closet, especially if you live in a cooler climate. A trenchcoat is the perfect lightweight layering piece for when you’re in those temperature-transitional times, such as coming out of winter or going into fall.

What are your favorite staple wardrobe pieces? Let me know in the comments; I’d love to hear about them!
