Reflections of Jesus

March 27, 2017

Part of being a servant of Christ requires us to let His light shine through our interactions with others daily.

We are to strive to live by Jesus’ teachings and examples that He gave us while He walked on the earth. How many times have we watched ourselves fail miserably in handling a situation, and we think to ourselves, There’s no way I can EVER be as good and perfect as Jesus was.

I know I have!

The fact of the matter is that as humans, we are all going to make mistakes. We will never be perfect, but we serve a God who is. My prayer this month has simply been, “Let them see You in me.”

When strangers notice you aren’t like everyone else, that there’s something different about you but they just can’t put their finger on it — Jesus, let them see You!  I want to be a mirror image of His goodness, His love, and His kindness. When He moves, I move; where He goes, I want to be there also.

Here are three areas in which we can reflect Jesus daily:

1. In the way we walk

Lord, let me walk in Your will; order my footsteps, and lead me in the path of righteousness. If we let Your word be a lamp unto our feet, the way will be well-lit and secured on a solid foundation.

2. In the way we love

To love like Jesus, we must love people equally, regardless of reciprocation, and patiently. We must also love those who are against us.

3. In the way we talk

Our words cannot be taken back once we let them out. Our words should be uplifting, encouraging, and kind, and they should build others up.

More than anything, I want my life to be a reflection of Jesus to this lost world — to help even one person feel the hope that God extends to us each day. As we prepare for the upcoming Easter holiday, where we take the time to celebrate Jesus’ resurrection, we should also take some time to reflect and ask ourselves: “Does my life point the way for those who have a desire to see and meet Jesus?”

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven (Matthew 5:16).

I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me (John 17:23).

Ladies, let’s strive to be reflections of Jesus everywhere we go!
