Living in Leather

October 13, 2016

If you love style like I do, then you will see that moto style leather jackets are on trend this season. However, a real leather jacket can be expensive! But some things are worth the investment if you know they will last and you will wear them for ages to come. For me, I know that I will definitely be wearing this jacket with EVERYTHING this season…and all of the other seasons to come! It’s a jacket that never really goes out of style!

A leather jacket can change the look of an outfit completely.  It brings an edgy look to an outfit and makes a statement. If you want to spend your money on a quality leather jacket, but don’t want to pay full retail price, then check second hand places or apps like eBay and Poshmark.

If you don’t want to spend a lot of money, or don’t want to wear leather, many places like Forever 21, Zara, and H&M offer vegan or faux leather jackets. These are generally a lot cheaper in price and are more affordable.

I styled this look based on my leather jacket, pairing it with a midi wool dress, and a pair of beige booties. Each of these pieces that I wore complemented each other and pulled out colors from one another. I purchased my jacket from Zara, however I didn’t pay the retail price. Because of a pricing mistake on their behalf (and they honored), I was able to get the jacket for about $70 (woohoo!), which is a great deal for a real leather jacket. My booties are Calvin Klein and were purchased from MJM, a discount store, but can be purchased here. (Fun Fact about the booties: the heel has a metallic sheen to them which make them SO fun. They also come in black.) And lastly, my midi dress was purchased last season from Zara when they had their winter sale. Sadly, they no longer have it in stock.

Of course, I had to add a picture of the little thing in my life that makes everything complete, my boy Finley!

What are some of your favorite ways to style a leather jacket? Are you a fan of the leather motorcycle jacket look?
