Happiness is an emotion all endeavor to feel, and a word some — namely me! — love to wear. Now I’m not a huge fan of t-shirts, but I do have a notable weakness for adorable graphic tees, especially those that are lightweight and easily incorporated into an outfit. This particular tee from Dotsy’s Boutique fits all of those qualifications, so I, of course, had to have it.
The big question when buying graphic tees tends to be what to wear them with so that they don’t look to haphazard or careless. I’ve discovered that my favorite answer to this question is an oh-so-comfortable and fashionably relevant kimono. I’ll admit, I was skeptical of kimonos when they first appeared, but once I threw one over my shoulders, I was immediately sold on the concept.
Kimonos are an effortless wow-factor to any outfit.
Sometimes in bold patterns to bring a pop to blandness, creating a flowing contrast to a fitted undershirt, and allowing one to be cool on a hot summer day while still allowing for layering.
For this outfit, I used my floral kimono, also from Dotsy’s Boutique, to dress up my casual tee. I also used my functional backpack from Target, matching heeled sandals by Arturo Chang, and black, drawstring skirt from The Loft to create a neutral canvas so the tee and kimono would be the focus of the outfit, not to mention to remain comfortable for a long day of vacation.
