I’m Thankful For You

November 13, 2017

November is the month that reminds us to be thankful. I try to live a thankful life, but around this time of year, I’m more inclined to look intentionally for things to be thankful for.

Today, I’m thankful for you.

Yes, you!

You live your life with intention, and pursue your faith with purpose. You don’t always get it right, but you get back up and keep going. You are an encouragement to me!

I’m thankful for your Christian character.

You’re not given to gossiping about or tearing down your sisters in the Lord. Instead, you carry a spirit of peace, and build up others with words of life and encouragement.

I’m thankful for your commitment to modesty.

In spite of a culture that discourages modesty and separation, you’ve taken a stand. You dress in a way that both pleases God and represents Him well. Your peers in school and on the job may not understand, but they notice that there is something different about you. Your choice to stand out for the sake of Jesus is a beautiful thing, and I’m thankful that you choose to be a light in the dark.

I’m thankful for your faithfulness.

You’re ready to serve when needed, and you do so with a sincere smile. You are truly the hands and feet of Jesus as you present Him to the world in a tangible way. You give of your time and talents to advance the Kingdom of God, and you’re a blessing to your church family and community. When the Church is blessed, we are all blessed! So, thank you for being faithful!

I’m thankful for your endurance.

Things don’t always go the way you think they should, and sometimes you face what appears to be insurmountable mountains. But, you simply hold tighter to the hand of God in spite of trials, disappointments, and even loss. You understand that she, “who endureth to the end shall be saved,” and nothing can cause you to turn back now (Matthew 10:22). You’re a great example to the rest of us who are either currently facing our own tribulation, or will face it down the road. Thank you for enduring through it all!

I’m thankful for your prayers.

You have a daily relationship with God that has produced a steadfast faith. I know I can call on you to pray with me when I need the support of a sister. And when you say you’ll pray for me, I know you mean it.

If it hasn’t been acknowledged recently, I want you to know that you are making a difference. You are intentional, and your ‘set apart’ lifestyle is an example others can follow.

You’re pointing people to Jesus! And, I’m thankful for you.
