You know those days when you don’t want to be too dressy, but you still want to look presentable?
Then let me introduce you to the floppy hat.
Honestly, the floppy hat is a must have edtion to your wardrobe for those bad hair days or when you just want to add an easy, interesting element to your outfit.
This outfit is one of my favorites; although it is casual, it still has a few classic elements that I love. I paired this hi-low top with a black pencil skirt and black tights, nothing groundbreaking, I know, but simply adding a few small details is all you need to make any simple outfit a success.
I added a printed watch, a floppy hat, a vibrant snakeskin clutch and a pair of grey booties to add that edge to the outfit. Lately I’ve been wearing short socks over my tights when wearing booties – not only does it keep my feet warm and cozy, but it adds another eye-catching element to the ensemble. Its currently pretty chilly in the northern region of the country, so layers help to keep the outfit season appropriate. I layed a black leather jacket over this ensemble a few days ago, and it kept me warm without compromising the look!
After I bought this top, I figured I would never wear it. (Its one of those tops I purchased because it was seven dollars on the clearance rack at JC Penney’s.) However, I have gotten so much wear out of this top! If you purchase a piece of clothing a little bit out of your comfort zone, try pairing it with some of your favorite, classic go-to pieces; this way you will feel more comfortable, while still making a statement with your outfit choice.
You don’t always have to spend a fortune to achieve a certain look. I am a huge advocate of bargain hunting. I rarely pay full price for anything. Except for the shoes, every other piece I am wearing prices out at less than twenty dollars. Like the Marshall’s slogan says, “Never pay full price for fabulous!”
